Windsor Castle Admissions and Education Centre
The Future Programme at Windsor Castle was to increase public access to the Castle, specifically, the ground floor of the State Apartments, reinstate the Georgian Entrance Hall and link the north and south side entrances to provide new visitor routes through the State Apartments.
To facilitate the additional visitors and provide additional educational and learning resources the Admissions Building ad Learning Centre, a new building within the Pug Yard was redeveloped as part of the project.
The existing admissions facility, together with the conversion and extension of the existing conservation workshops was used to provide for the relocation of an enlarged Learning Centre. This work includes the conversion of a listed building to the East of the Pug Yard, to provide proposed dining hall facilities. The demolition of buildings aligning the western side of the Pug Yard, allow for the development of a new two storey Learning Centre Building.
